Unexpected Places Cerulean

Loneliness in unexpected places as light fades
where darkness hides us painfully within a crowd
a sea of faces swimming before us hurtling insults
crying,  longing release the light of day brings

never really alone clinging to memories calling
a life revealing a landscape of muddy waters
licking shoes taking tenuous steps seeking
solidity of forms and shapes not shadows

as a breeze gently touches, caresses to whisper
heard over a beating heart warm and living
kaleidoscope of cosmic milky cerulean colors
within a galaxy timeless casting tomorrows

bringing us to unexpected places brilliant
as a new star created out of the darkness
exploding, nae screaming but resilient
new beginnings along the path taken

    1. I will need to send you an email, my friend, for so much has gone on in recent months. My vision is excellent except a couple of things the new lens cannot fix as they are age related. But to not wear glasses after 59yrs is wonderful. I have a new app for changing photos so I must experiment a bit. Will say more later. Hugs and Blessings to you as well! xoxo

  2. ‘New beginnings along the path taken’ – love this! Staying firmly with choices and where they have taken us, but having the courage to rise again! And isn’t that what makes a true spiritual warrior?

    Nicely done. 🙏❤️

  3. This is an inspiring poem. Reading it I felt like it was reminding us to face the darkness and at the same time not being afraid to trust the light. As Bela said in the comments, it speaks of someone who is a spiritual warrior. It is in darkness often we stand up to what we fear and bring out that light within us, or create that light around us. Very thoughtfully written, Renee.

  4. Post nubila phoebus (Latin) which means after the clouds, the sun. Your poem reminds me of that, Renee. There is always hope, after a tunnel of darkness shines a light. I especially like the last stanza, the star created out of darkness is a very powerful image. Words like “exploding” and “resilient” are well chosen. And then there is the unexpected, the unknown that come into our lives where we see it is worth taking risks because changes and new beginnings are necessary. “New beginnings along the path taken” is a wonderful way to end your poem plus your beautiful artwork where I see the globe, the continents and the new star above. Lovely post, Renee!
