Dreams follow us down each path tread whilst children dream of flying free as the ceiling falls away to reveal blackest night and stars
other dreams tarnish in light of day youth is vanquished and vanishes revealing the harshness of life's littering dreams hidden beneath its' debris
held in the ire of those who are envious of those who dare to dream tethered by a thread stronger than the spider's woven web and devoid of a destination
yet it is the ironic situation they intuit themselves immersed in as they observe fragments of memory creeping closer a breath away
delivering the ultimate realization they too have dreams longing to wake thirsting for a heart to beat within which has lain dormant too long in youth not lost but sleeping
Beautifully expressed, Renee. A homage to dreams, yay! Wish those people wake up and stop being dormant! I especially love the image of the spider’s thread and woven web, very powerful.
The beauty of growing older to me is that there is blessed time to dream and create and reflect. There are three faces to the Goddess: Maiden, Mother and Crone. Too often I notice women continuing their Mothering with grandkids, for example, to the exclusion of embracing the Crone phase which calls us to delve deeper inside, to create, cultivate and accumulate wisdom. Then they feel like life has passed them by. As in all things, balance is desirable. Aloha, Renee. Sweet offering. Love the image as well. ā¤
Thank you Bela! I will be moving to my oldest daughter’s next April and there are grand babies but she knows that I am not going to do any baby sitting…unless my daughter is ill with her Lupus….and then I would help. But I am going to endeavor to build a tiny structure on her property in which I will have everything with which to create and only eat and shower insider her home. A big step for me but rent is no longer an option as they continue to climb. Yes, it is the time in life for me to grow into who I am and am looking forward to it. Aloha!
Eloquent writing, Renee, along with your beautiful imagery. And so very true, these dreams and passages of life….and if we’re astute, the growing wisdom.
Hope you’re having a good weekend. ā„ļø
Thank you Betty. I once was married to a dreamer of a kind and now he fills his days talking about ‘what ifs’ and such. Yet I was never one to dream but as I’ve grown older perhaps some dreams are something to consider. Hope you are having a good weekend as well.
It’s good to dream, as long as we balance it with practicality, I guess. Though there are those leaps of faith that can either result in great things or catastrophe. It’s the “what ifs” that cause depression….but that’s a whole other subject, no doubt. I’ve learned to live in the Now….or at least I’m trying. š
Such a lovely poem Renee.. No matter how old I get, one never lets go of our dreams.. May all of your wishes come true dear Renee… Your journey has not been an easy one my friend..
But I know when we keep hold of our dreams, we make them come true within our reality..
Sending Lots of love and well wishes my friend

Thank you, Sue. I always thought myself to not be a dreamer but in actuality, I never allowed myself to dream or sought the reality of them. I am hoping that some will come about while I am at my daughter’s as she is so much that I am not…optimistic and positive for one. Even with her Lupus she always looks forward to another day. She continues to teach me so much. Love and Blessings to you my friend….and Hugs! Of course! xoxo
Oh I am certain her energy will rub off on you Renee.. Sending you ALL Loads of love for a beautiful Christmas.. I know 2019 will herald in lots of Positive changes.. ā¤

Glad you enjoyed the read. So true that there should be more dreamers in life than those who are not. Take care.
