This is a photo I took some years ago now of Seattle’s Pike Place Market. I love to take day trips there and do expect crowds as people from all over the world like to frequent this market.

Please read this excellent post on doctors and trusting yourself regarding your own health care. For some, something to think about.
Dr. Y:
I was told your peers on the medical review board will see this letter. The day you squeeze out a human being from between your legs is the day you will have earned your license as a doctor thanks to your closed-minded, dismissive attitude to women. I couldn’t believe I had to appeal and work so hard for a simple test that would shed light on my troubles. I did not realize you were an arbiter of the services within my rightful reach. You were supposed to be my advocate. Little did I know I would have to prove to you my credibility as a patient. The testimony of my experiences and attendant symptoms were not significant enough for you. Since when is patient history insufficient? You “did not find it medically necessary” to learn what I could rule out to care for myself appropriately. You “did not…

I was walking and photographed a rhododendron that is now changing it’s colors in readiness for Fall. I have digitized my photo for today’s Haiga.

I am going to endeavor to post something every day for 30 days of Haiga that Rick Daddario is hosting from his site at http://rickdaddario.com/blog/. This is the first time I have decided on doing a Haiga which is a piece of art, in any form, combined with a Haiku. Please visit Rick’s site to read more.
He once had the stealth of youth
hiding in all manner of places
walking down a dark hall
might leave a trace swipe of claw
We had a difference of opinion
I felt it was my own domain
it was I who owned the turf
he glared at me with disdain
His yellow eyes and red brick nose
his white socked feet dancing
he drank with his paws
reclined royalty struck a pose
We did not ever become close
until he became frail and thin
I became his only caretaker
the rapscallion and I friends

The powers that be say some
something more than say others
free will a gift?
to what cost
the expense of war
the ravages of war
death for following
death for an ideal
The powers that be say some
something more than say others
free will a gift?
to what cost
the rape of women
the death of girls
not a choice
not part of freedom
The powers that be say some
something more than say others
free will a gift?
to what cost
children starving
disease going unchecked
trapped in poverty
knowledge for the few
The powers that be say some
something more than say others
watching with hope
to what cost

Who really is to blame for all the ills of the world…or is it really something more.
