Iced Sugar Crystals

My studio shown in the early morning sun
as though decorated in tiny sugar crystals

the panes of glass in the windows white
as though painted in a thin sheen of ice

reminding me of another frosted landscape
bristling of crunchy crystal iced patterns

though trees are beginning to show leafy buds
while rhododendron buds look ready to bloom

all signaling that Spring will soon arrive
with a warmth showering landscape with green

  1. Beautiful Renee, I remember as a child waking up in winter to scrape the ice-crystals off of our bedroom window..
Cannot wait for Spring to bloom… And for us the relentless rain to stop.. But we are very fortunate here, living on our hill.. So many homes and business’s ruined by flood water..
Our Rhododendrons have lots of tight bud, and will flower around May time.. So looking forward to colour being back in the garden again
I trust you are well my friend..
Sending Huge hugs your way Renee.. ❤

    1. We have had more frosted days this Winter than I could care to count. Very cold weather, indeed, even though we still have had our share of WA rain. But there are things budding everywhere and today I made note of Heather in bloom as well as Cherry Blossom beautiful. There are also large buds on the Rhodes (WA state flower) and bulbs are emerging. All good signs that I long for as I love Spring. I have been ill a good deal this month. First a long lingering cold from my grandbabies and then a very bad case of food poisoning (I’ve never had it before). My daughter took care of me and I was thankful she did. I now feel, after a week, much better and a good thing as I have another studio event on Saturday. I missed the last one. Hugs your way as well, Sue. xoxo

      2. Thank you, Sue, and yes I do feel better. I have packed up my things for a trip into Tacoma where I use to live as the studio is there, my clinic and my friend who lets me stay with her when I come. Also, we use the same dentist and she no longer has a car, so I will drive us there next week. (I also have to do taxes 😦 ). The next five days will be busy but Spring is peeking now and so many things are blooming! The sun is out today and I am loving it. I will always be a sunshine sort of gal. Big hugs to you always! xoxo

    1. Thank you, Betty. Yes, it all bolsters my spirit. I have been ill most of the month now. First with a lingering cold from the grandbabies and just now have made it through a bad case of food poisoning. I’ve never had it before and it gave me a great deal of trouble. Thankfully, my daughter took care of me through the worse of it. But now Spring is to be here soon, I can readily set it all aside for the warmer days ahead. Do take care.
