The fog is heavy as a blanket
& thick enough for warmth
but chilling to the touch
the heaviness of how it lies
upon the landscape
muffles sound
a density that ensconces trees
& enfolds houses
one might believe they can
all but move it aside
with the touch of a hand
but it will not move
not willingly
it will wait below whilst
a brilliant shining orb
burns above &
cannot be seen
nor felt
a dance of epic proportions
goes on outside
my window
who is the real master
or mistress
here
a hidden shift that will
only reveal the answer
by one of the dancers
next moves
but for now as in a game
game of chess
it is a stalemate
the dancers seemingly
frozen in time

Reflective thoughts on a chilly day. True, the sun lies on the other side of that fog! Always, at least so far as we can imagine. Aloha and happy new year, Renee! 💕

We have so much fog here in the Winter and you are either seeing it come as the sun goes down or it’s there when you look out your window in the morning. Glad you liked it. Aloha and a Happy New Year to you as well, Bela!

Beautiful words Renee,
Fog has also laid low several days here also my friend.. We are all of us wanting the Sun to show its strength in the heavens to burn off the dismal gloom..
Have a Wonderful New Year Renee..
Many thanks my dear friend for your cherished friendship .. Loved your creative art also..
I have a water colour on the go, as I dabble with some meaningful symbols I had in my head..
Happy New Year!!!
and much love ❤

Thank you for your kind words, my friend. I have needed healing from a lifetime of emotional pain that I cannot even begin to share with you here as I would like, because I know you would understand. Now, here at my daughter’s house, I have the opportunity to find the path I need to be on at long last. As the weather has not permitted me to yet create art in my studio I have ventured into unknown territory for me. I have joined a group I found on a site called Meet Up that is a studio for women only. It is called Creative Dreamer’s Art Studio and I will go to the first event, I was drawn to, on Sunday. I need to meet people and for a very solitary bird who is better at writing words by herself and creating art by herself, it will be a stretch. I am anxious and nervous to think of doing art along with others doing art but I need to make the effort. I wanted to share this with you. Again, I hope for you all the very best in 2020 and I am happy our paths crossed. xoxo

I am expressly anxious about going, Sue, and now more so as to begin with it looked as though there would be at least some women in their early fifties and now all of them look as though I might be 40yrs their senior. I makes me feel very uncomfortable. I am not being critical but just trying to explain my nervous, not very social self and being in a situation I’ve never been before…and to top it off, to be the oldest one there…the senior. I have a friend that says I should go in any case and if I don’t like it then at least I tried. Thank you for your well wishes, my friend. xoxo

Sue, I was able to find out from the organizer of this group that there are more people attending than I had thought. I found her studio inside another website but she also has a website and so there should be some other women that are older. So, I will go as planned and see what I think. xoxo

I love your fog imagery! It’s always a waiting game until the sunshine finally burns through it. You’ve described that so well!

Thank you, Betty. I am not fond of it but rather than write something dreary, I decided to find a bit of the bright side.

Thank you Sue for asking. The studio went well…for me. It is a huge learning curve and a major change for I have much in my life experience that has kept me isolated and apart from others, i.e, upbringing ,genetics and trauma the main ones. Life brings to us not what we would hope but usually what comes to us as we walk our path. But I am endeavoring to change that and it is difficult and takes time. I set out on this sojourn in September so will see where it leads me. I do have a piece of art I am now working on. I began it in my own studio and worked on it in the other studio but will finish it in mine. I am signed up for another event this coming Sunday to do Mandalas. Much love your way as well, my friend. xoxo

So beautiful – I love fog – somehow they’re totally different to me to dreary cloudy days that refuse to at least rain. Hope your meetup group went well for you — to my mind, any group is fortunate to have such a sensitive thoughtful soul as you ❤

Thank you for visiting. I love to follow your travels as the places you go I will not be able to. But if I can but go there with another in their writing and photos, it is a wonderful thing. My new studio endeavor is going well, thank you.
