Light reveals as much as we allow it to
when we open not only our eyes
but our heart
then our spirit soars and life
takes on new meaning
where colors are no longer dull
in shades of gray
but filtered brilliance
as in a rainbow after
a storm
it opens up a place deep
within our soul
big enough to hold all
of the wonder
where there are no boundaries
this place is us
me and you
this place is where life
flourishes
this is where I can begin
to know and accept
who I am

Thank you, Betty. It has been quite a change for me moving to my daughter’s home but I am doing much better. I have returned to my meditation and am finding it brings me so much. I hope you are well.

Glad you’re doing so much better, and that you’ve been able to meditate. (It’s what keeps me going, I think.)

I took up meditation many years ago now but with a much too busy life was not including it as I should. I did visualization but meditation is and has become once again paramount for me to be a truly well person. I am happy you find the practice helpful as well.

Beautifully penned, Renee. There is great eloquence in this piece. Only in consonance with nature can we accept who we are. And your artwork is wonderfully autumnal.

Thank you for such kind words. I truly believe we are all a part of nature and nature a part of us. Hope you are well.

However, today is a sad day. Our peaceful leaders of Catalonia’s proindependence movement and our democratically elected politicians have been condemned up to 13 years in prison for sedition. Where is the sedition here if there was never any violence from the Catalan side? Obviously, the Spanish state has created and is creating a factory of fake news. They have also imprisoned 7 common citizens accused of invented terrorism. One of them is totally isolated in a prison cell since September 23, has had no possibility to speak with a lawyer, has no light in the cell and is taken outside in the last turn for dinner eating only the leftovers. Today is indeed a sad day, but also the starting point for a series of intensified NVDA (Non Violent Direct Actions). We are taking the streets peacefully and practicing civil disobedience whenever necessary. There is no other way.

Renee, this is a hopeful piece. Interestingly, your mood here is some of the same from Jae Rose today! There is so much beauty and validation in the world, but the noise of politics and the rest tends to drown it out. So happy you are finding that quiet center. A

Thank you Amy for stopping by. I have missed reading your wonderful writing with your sharp wit and realistic view of our world. I have taken to not listening to the news these past few months and I find it to be better for me not to engage. I hope you are well, my friend.
