There is a light wind pushing
ever so slightly against me
touching my face briefly
before moving on
apropos
caressing as a lover’s
gentle kiss a dahlia’s petals
to the ground to lie
beneath full blooms
soft pastel colored lavender
bright with life’s promise
now faded as though clouds
miniature have settled
at my feet
where once again a lightness
of wind inhales releasing
a puff to calmly
wrap itself
in and around blades of grass
coming to gently rustle
the twigs of the
fragrant mock orange
in passing
the wind coalescing as
tendrilled & ghostly fingers
is ever a breathing
companion to nature
even in a wisp of air
trembling a reed

Thank you, Bela. One thing for sure, here where my daughter’s house is built. There is lots of wind, breezes…just anything like that. As there are no trees to create a buffer. When it is really windy it is just best to stay inside but most of the time it is welcome. Aloha!

I love wind! We live in a windy area as well. Hurricane season is coming. Winds just energize me. But some actually move here and are amazed it is windy! They hate it! At the cost of property here, you think they might’ve done their homework … 😂

Renee, you are the poet of nature par excellence. Love how you so beautifully connect nature’s power to our soul’s breath.

I so feel apart of all that is within nature and my muse never lacks for inspiration. Thank you.

This is delicately beautiful, Renee. I love the wind imagery….and those last two lines are perfect.
Hope things are going well with you. The weather has cooled suddenly…. Stay warm!

Thank you, Betty. Here where my daughter lives they get an unusual amount of wind as there really are no trees close to act as a break for it. But I stay in if it’s too windy and have learned to like it more than I thought I might. Always something new in life. Stay warm as well!

Thank you. When I first started my site I decided to try and put something visual with each piece I wrote and wasn’t very adept at it….as it was online….but with time I found an application that let’s you change photos into what I would consider art. They type of art I am use to is pencil, pastels, acrylic and watercolor….and other media. So tackling the computer was a challenge but now it seems to work out. I am happy you enjoyed both the writing and the “visual art”.

Oh goodness, so beautiful. I’m there, in every sentence – you have a way of conveying nature with precise observation that immediately transplants me into the scenes. I am your poetry victim, happily! And the wind, as a “breathing companion” to nature …. ahhh 🙂

Aside from the Winter fog, we get a fair amount of wind here in Washington. Today it is again windy with rain. Thank you!
