***Omnipresence of Life***

Her omnipresence is felt in the universe
transcending solar systems unknown
past the galaxy of the milky way
glittering within the aurora borealis

she embraces her duality always complex
orchestrating the life cycle
of a caterpillar from cocoon to butterfly
exquisite of design and beauty

she extends her arms as tree branches
taller than redwoods wider than mighty oaks
contained in the tiniest clover flowers
fragrant as fields of wild roses

she gives birth to both male and female
always with her heart and strength
loving with tender passionate acceptance
the uniqueness of all creation

she laughs in playful abandonment
as dolphins and otters of rivers and oceans
dispersed like a whale song balm
so tempers the opium of fear and hate

she is intertwined in fabrics’ existence
stronger than silk of worm or web of spider
will not be broken or manipulated falsely
without her there would be no life

  1. Lovely illustraation and poem. Will publish next week unless I hear from you that you’d rather I not. Was thinking of you yesterday. I sat with a friend in the hospital who is ill and scared. Sweet elderly lady – 90s. There was a younger woman in the next bed and I wondered how your daughter is doing. ????

    1. Thank you so much and I am always pleased if you choose to post something I have written. My daughter, so far, has no cancer in her lungs or in the growth on her carotid artery. She will go in for surgery on her kidney March 17th to remove a large cyst which they will biopsy. She still has to see the surgeon again regarding surgery on her abdomen to correct the malformation she was born with (they found it when doing an MRI). We had no idea as she never really showed any problems as a child. She is optimistic (unlike me) and always reminds me her glass is half full. Her second granddaughter and my third great granddaughter will be born in about 4-5 weeks now. I do hope you are faring well this Winter. It always reminds me I am at heart a CA girl. 🙂

      1. Well it at least sounds like they are moving forward for her and that there’s some good news. Mother’s are always scared. I don’t blame you for worrying. Congrat’s on the great grandchild. Exciting.

  3. Happy you enjoyed the read and hoping your Spring will arrive soon so your garden may flourish once more. Sometimes I wish I could have your energy. I could accomplish so much. Even before surgery I was chronically fatigued and now blood thinners seem to make it worse at times. My mind just never wants to turn off and is constantly churning past, present and future thoughts. But I am encouraged by someone such as yourself and just keep plugging away. Be well. xoxo
