it is winter now and raining
as it rarely did then
another lifetime…do you recall
a warm glow to your skin
as you stood amidst glittering sand
receiving the ocean’s salty mist
a warm wind carving waves
the rain reminds me as a child when
swimming past rolling waves
to a calm ocean to hold my raft
and even the depth beneath me
held no fear
i seemed to drift as it were
past people i did not know as
playing amongst the salty brine
they seemed to fade away
and i remained
it is winter now and raining
as it rarely did then
another lifetime…do you recall

I wonder who that “someone” is that your addressing here. I’ve often thought about how many of my memories feel like they were lifetimes ago. I like that you held no fear out there in the depths on your raft! Oh, and it looks different over here again…you’ve been doing some decorating! Nice!

So, you caught me talking to myself again. Only this time it wasn’t out loud. LOL It does seem another lifetime and that it happened to someone else. Yes, I just could not do anything else with my other site so made the leap and chose another one. I am still getting use to it but so far I like it. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

Very expressive language I can see the ocean and it seems there is a memory of a fearless time and the past and its people seems to have faded. Great poem
I have started to write again through Poetry United who give a prompt every week. I enjoy it although I don’t always have time
