The heavens spill star dust
into vastness of universe
like glitter catching moon rays
gathered in pools that play
amongst sprites,fairies and such
You watched the stars & moon
a blanket beneath on the grass
in wonder constellations bright
peering deeply into the night
they left you all too soon
The sun use to warm your skin
you bathed in its’ healing rays
the memory masked a wolf in guise
walked with you no more to fly
friend of the stars, speaker to wind

My oldest daughter has Lupus, as I might have mentioned prior on this site. When she was a little girl she use to love to take a blanket and go with her friend to soak up the rays of the sun. Later, after she was diagnosed, she found she was allergic to the sun. I began to see her taking her blanket at night and going outside to the front yard. I asked what she was doing and she merely said, “I’m going to watch the stars”. She has adjusted to life and amazes me in the process.

What beautiful imagery, Renee, truly lovely. I love how your daughter has adapted to living without the sun…star and moonlight filling in. I hope you had a nice holiday with your family…Happy New Year to you! xoxo

Thank You! I truly do not know how she does it. But she has a more positive personality than most. When she was 13yrs old her skin started just turning purple and peeling off. It was awful. It took another 10yrs to diagnose her. Happy New Year to you as well!xoxo

What a gift for her to have that positive spirit. I’ve heard of others that waited many years for a diagnoses…I wonder why?? Bless her heart. I hope she’s doing well. Hugs… xo

Lupus mimics many other diseases and there are certain levels in the blood, unless seen in a blood test, will cause the doctor to keep looking. I suppose she was fortunate to be diagnosed after ten years but I, too, did not go to other specialists. A learning process to be sure. Hope you are well. Hugs xoxo

I understand. I hope your daughter is feeling steady these days, Renee. Dealing with doctors and our health can often lead to us learning about ourselves. Doing pretty good, hope you are progressing well in your recovery. Hugs xoxo

Beautiful as always mama. I know that Behind every cloud is the rays of the sun. So I welcome the clouds with a smile as a blanket of warmth knowing the sun is behind smiling back. I love you
