***WINGS BECOME COLOR***

Wings

Photo Taken From Morgue File

wings  becoming color with each passing day

in the way that my heart now is beating

rhythmic as bird song

notes expressive as they play

wings steadily beating in time to purples

passionate reds swirling

music trebles and base greens

exploding in jazzy rainbows

wings filled with dancing sun ray yellows

creating a pathway of light

surrounding the world in color

keeping time with the beat of my heart

    1. I had a stroke in March due to bacteria on my heart valve and then in April went into heart failure. I have a new heart valve now and six weeks later finally feeling more like myself. It will take more time to fully recover but I am now retired so have the time in which to do that. Thank you for your comment.

  2. Renee, your poetry is beautiful.. Keep those wings beating, but in a rhythm that is steady as you take your pace of life more slowly for a while..
you know what they say my dear friend, If we do not slow down then something comes along to slow us down..

I am so pleased to know that you are feeling better and are getting there at last in your recovery.. I hope that you continue to take care of YOU.. and not over worry or over do things…
I know only too well how the days seem at first to drag out when we are used to being active and busy working.. but now is the time to nurture yourself..

As Summertime is also upon you enjoy the sun, let its rays also heal you, as you breathe in its warmth.

Love and Healing thoughts my dear dear friend.
    Hugs to you

    1. Thank you for your encouragement Sue. I use to have “pen pals” growing up and wrote to other people in different countries. I loved and missed it when it was gone. Now I have my site and people like you and it is like “pen pals” once again. xoxox

  3. Wings enable birds to fly and soar so I like the analogy you have used here. I also think that wings that get more colorful can only bring more happiness. Hope you continue to make a steady recovery.

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Trisha. I am doing much better. I am retired now and my house will hopefully be sold soon. It takes a long time to recover from open heart surgery but I take it a day at a time. Do take care. Love to you also.
