wind gusts are sweeping
across the surface of the house
like angry waves coursing
filled with emotions
no way to extinguish
like layers of tindered fire
Another Passing Storm
the windows rattle noisily
as though there are hands
that are shaking them
wanting and demanding
to get in
Another Passing Storm
check the locks on the doors
check the seals on the windows
wind is howling now in chorus
like babies wanting more
Another Passing Storm
just as the roof seems lifted
as if being pulled
the house does cease to shudder
the wind now but a breeze
the waves of it calm now
raging flames surceased
Another Passing Storm

Greeteings Renee, I could feel the chaning patterns in the weather in your words, reminds me of our yearly summer dust storms, watching it come in, closing windows and doors and waiting till it passed.
Didn’;t help much as there was still dust everywhere next day.
Wishing you a beautiful Christmas Renee.
Kind regards
Ian

Thank you Ian and yes I would imagine there is really no way to keep dust out. I am always quite amazed by the places it gets into…like my fridge when I cleaned it recently. LOL Hope you and your family are well and have a wonderful holiday as well.

This reminded me especially of a storm that my sisters and I rode out one night in our rented house on the beach, It felt like the place was going to crash down around us the wind was so fierce. But in no time it passed and all was calm again. Wishing you a happy holiday, Renee…peace and joy. xoxo

I’m happy to get a response from you here, Renee. We had a nice, mellow day and got to hang out with Mira and play with some of her new toys. What could be better than that? Hope the New Year brings all good things to you, Renee! xoxo
