when the thick grey mist
rises up from
the still dark blue water
as mirrored glass
to greet the dawn
there is no doubt
once the sun’s rays
burn away
the damp & dark
of passing night
bird chorus
will welcome morn

A delightful writing Renee, conjures up a beautiful image.
I recall scenes like this back in my younger days when living in the mountains.

I love the early morning hours for this reason alone. The birds are so eager to greet the day…unlike myself…and I listen to them all and enjoy it. Thank You!
