fur soft and course
all at once
like brush bristles
left untouched
eyes speaking to me
from deep inside
her voice only heard
in a blink of time
always rescued them
as they came my way
her I chose

Let me begin by saying the above pic is not of the dog I recently adopted but looks enough like her, I decided to use it here. I call the dog I adopted Dulce and she is 7 months old. She will hopefully, like all my pets, have a very long life ahead of her. She traveled here to Washington along with many other dogs that were rescued from what they call ‘kill facilities’ in California. She has spirit and I believe will let nothing get her down.

Beautiful as she is!!

Doesn’t this one look like Dulce? Amazing. But I’m sure there are lots more out there that do. She is doing well. Had her on the harness the first time and she did pretty good.

Oh, Renee — from this, I can imagine how precious she is — and at 7 months — what cuteness in store!! 😀

She has been very good thus far, except a mishap of chewing out of her condo crate. LOL. I have gotten her a metal one now but have the bottom still cush. I think she is teething.

A sweet poem – like Dulce – how good of you. Enjoy your new pal. Look forward to more posts on her an perhaps some photographs. Congratulations to you both for having found one another.

Thanks Jamie. I will post some pics when I have a bit more down time. I think the choice was a good one.

Renee, she is beautiful, and you have set my own self a brooding for a pet…. I have been pet-less for many a year now, and promised myself once my hubby had retired which he did last year I would rescue a dog.. as we always kept cats…
But still have not got around to it…
Your Dulce even though a look-a-like photo I would image to be so so cute… Even though she has her teething pangs to go through with chewing!, 😉 glad you got that sorted.. 😀 She will have lots of Love from you and will give you loads of unconditional love in return…..
Sending you both a Hug as life’s plan unfolds 🙂 xxxxx
Peace sent your way

Thank you Sue and sorry for the late response. I have been exhausted from work and am hopeful it will work itself out. Dulce (sweet in Spanish) is a good dog and has been fairly easy to work with. She is wanting so much to please me and looks so sad when she has not. I was told that when she is about a year and a half the chewing should get less. You certainly should look into a rescue. There are so many in need of a good home. xoxoxo

I have not had a dog for many years but the other of my two cats now gone I decided to have another. She is certainly a smart little thing and yes, a good companion.

How is Dulce doing? 😀 Wrapped around your finger?

She is and I am wrapped tight around her paws. 🙂 She has gotten healthy and gained weight and gotten active and playful. All things she was not when I got her as she was a sick puppy. But she is spoiled now. I do have to watch her as she is a chewer and so I am hopeful that once she is over a year that will begin to diminish. Yes, she has captured my heart. Thanks for asking!
