The Piano

The Piano

Altered Google Image

you set waiting amongst others of your kind
housing the large harp within your casing
standing upright and waiting for that one
that would love you enough to once again

lovingly ply your ivory keys with passionate
longing to coax musical notes waiting to
escape the dust that has settled upon them
in an effort to come alive, notes chording

to no longer set idle in bitter loneliness
but belong in the midst of those that would
wipe away the weary years with but a touch
of shine from joyous tears that melodies sign

will rise like timeless orchestrated sighs
bringing rays of light into lives one true
measure you will no longer wait in silence
but fill empty hours with unending pleasure

  2. We have a piano that needs tuned, and then played. Sadly, I don’t play at all and my wife has so many other interests that she has little time for it. Sigh – maybe one day….

    1. I have let mine set for so very long and I so love to play. It is always something that takes me away from it so I really do need to get it tuned. I have such good intentions like lots of people. We all do get busy, don’t we? Thanks Tony!

    1. Upright Grand pianos actually do have a harp inside. It is amazing to look inside and see it standing there and when the keys are pressed…well, it is like magic. Thank You!

  3. Tis sad that we cease to appreciate the ability to play a musical instrument – it is a long time since I saw a piano in a house….

  4. Reminded me of the old piano we had in the garage of the house where I grew up…abandoned, lonely…no one awakening its “soul”…even though none of us could really ever play it. Even sadder… I love the images that you alter, Renee.
