Sirens

sirens

hair black obsidian
like crow’s feathers
nesting about her head

she waits looking out
at waves crestfallen
anatomy grey perilously

close and remembers
the day he left to
go fishing for sirens

    1. Thanks Brian! I normally don’t do prompts so have a bit of angst when I do as I love to simply let my writing come from where it may. But Kelvin’s art is delightful and really got me to thinking. I wanted to do his image some justice after all.

    1. Thank you Kelvin and for allowing me to use my imagination with your wonderful art. I normally do not use prompts, quite frankly, but once in awhile I do. You are a gifted artist and writer.

  2. You did wonderfully with the prompt, Renee. Sometimes they can really spark a lot of creativity…I missed that one. I like how you described her hair…she seemed pretty resigned to his taking off to fish for Sirens…
