smokin’ cigarettes

bet he never knew
she took them…
neither did my mom

i had an angel

Hope I haven’t offended the Graffiti artists of the world as really, I normally, do not do this type of art but had fun with it in any case.
This is for dVerse Poets Pub at http://dversepoets.com/street-culture/

hopefully they caught you though before they stuck…or you stopped…hard to quit later you know…but i did my share of sneaking…smiles…
i will fix your link at dverse now as well…

Sorry, Brian, if I did not link it correctly. I’m a bit tired again tonight. Have had a busy week. No, I don’t smoke now but it seemed like a good idea at the time and actually, I didn’t like it when I tried and couldn’t figure out what the big deal was.

Oh, the things we did as teens.

Yes, I figured since she had them I might as well try….too, I didn’t want her to think I wasn’t measuring up. Teens to some crazy things.

It’s amazing what you can get away with as a teenager. My parents seemed so oblivious.

I think you are correct, Lucy, and as I have some (got my first when I turned 50, so watch out!) and consider them art for as an artist I would have no less than that done. Thanks for visiting!

I actually smoked more when I was married because he did and his family did. I am a strange kind of ‘social’ smoker. I can take it or leave it but it really is no good for my lungs and these days I am happy to not do it. Thanks Claudia!

What a brill picture, almost 3D.
So glad you were prevented from harming your health for the long haul.

Thank you Aprille! I began trying more and more to do my own thing with the pics but still sometimes use either images I don’t re-touch or those I do. Takes a bit to do my own as holding the mouse still is rather painful to my hands. But I still keep trying.

I can remember as a child writing graffiti style on exercise books – never did the smoking until much later…

I doodled but I don’t think I would have called it graffiti. Now those who do graffiti are not without some real talent and I really don’t mind as long as it isn’t defacing something. Thanks Anna!

Ha, yes the things parents don’t catch. My nose is a bit too sensitive for that, and your poem makes me a bit glad I don’t have a teen of my own.

Mine too but didn’t stop me from trying because as a teen I didn’t want my friend to think I wouldn’t.

I think I knew someone was watching over me because I seemed to get away with so much sometimes.

The things we do when we’re young and think we know everything … including how not to get caught.

I didn’t get caught but somehow I felt no less guilty.

Things we got away with then — seem so mild to what kids can get away with now! 😦 Didn’t find a big deal in smoking either. I even smoked a pipe (with regular tobacco) for a short while in college. I had a yellow and a white pipe. Caused havoc in the girl’s dorm when I lit up … thought there was “man in the hall”! Yes, we did have angels watching over us.

Lucky you didn’t get addicted. I did, at 16, but managed to get free 38 years later. Enjoyed the poem and graffiti. Returning the favour (after your visit to me) I’ve had a look at your ‘About’ and am delighted to find such similar spiritual beliefs. 🙂

Thank you Rosemary and am happy to have found your site via deVerse. Always nice to see someone who has opened their life to what they can glean from many different beliefs. I believe it enriches and adds to and life, to me, is about that.
