he is always seeking
my attention and I
would think also
my approval
but no, he is a
creature of habit
which simply means
more petting…now

This is for the Small Stone Challenge January 2013. You can find them at http://www.writingourwayhome.com . This is Small Stone #25.
Have a new camera so will hopefully be downloading my own photos now. This is Hemingway, my 16yr old cat, who is well behaved as long as he
gets 24hrs of petting…not always easy to do.

Sweet 🙂 My husband wants to know if Hemingway is a Mainecoon cat.

He is partly but they, of course, are everywhere now and just not in Maine. I named him Hemingway as the writer Hemingway had a mansion down in Florida and all the cats there had six toes on each foot. Hemingway has huge feet and a double dew claw that he uses like an opposing thumb to pick things up. When I got him as a kitten he use to pull the thumb tacks out of the bulletin board and I’d come home to everything on the carpet. He’s unique! 🙂

He certainly is – thanks for the info – I’ll pass it on to hubby 🙂

Owners never truely own their cat.
The cat owns the owner, his eyes are scary hehe

They are even more scary if you don’t give him all the attention he feels he must have. lol

How typically cat-ish that is and what a perfectly beautiful cat he is, Renee.

He is something special, Jamie, but can be so bad if not given enough attention and since his ‘buddy’ died a couple of years back, he has gotten worse. I’ve become his new best friend as the other cat does not welcome the “buddy” type deal. LOL

He does know and the older he has gotten, the more naughty, if I go away to work or on an outting and am gone too long. 🙂

Hemingway — is beautiful. I am beginning to think the attention “when I want and I want it now” may be a trait of Maine Coons — our Shady Boudreaux ONeill is the exact same way. He often gets in trouble — with the adage — negative attention is better than no attention!! 😀

Yes, I so agree but did not realize it might be a trait of that breed. Sometimes he can be so good but when he is bad he is really bad…as they saying goes. He likes having me home so when I have a couple of days off then have to go back he not very happy about it at all. 😦

I don’t really know if it IS a trait among them — but Shady can be very good, but he is BAD when he doesn’t get what he wants when he want it!! 😀

True. But I do have another cat and he isn’t like that. If he gets attention he’s okay with that and if not, oh well! But Hemingway is not okay if he does not get his attention. Different personalities just like people! :|)

i like this accompanying words because the flow is as i would speak it. not in sentences but the way i would speak. i like that a lot, more and more i’m finding in my own work as well.
have fun with your camera. push the limits and beyond.
. . . . you know. just to see where they go. (okay, just imo)
