  4. Very nice. I was taking a walk at the VOA park near us yesterday and I didn’t have my iPod for a change. I was moved by the sound of the crickets and grasshoppers. The crickets song swells and ebbs, as if they are all part of a very large chorus singing in unison. Then the grasshoppers came in periodically with their racketing trill. Music to my ears.

    1. Thank You! When I visit my dad in CA there seems to always be crickets and if you want to leave a door open, even though there is a screen door, you best put a towel down at the bottom or you play havoc trying to find the little creature who goes and hides to make his music. They are lovely little creatures, though, and when so many it must sound like a chorus. Wonderful!

  6. aloha Renee – way fun what you are doing with image and the way(s) in which you are exploring this process.

    one of the players (Angie Werren) in 30 Days of Haiga uses PicMonkey to alter her photos. i liked the results she was getting so i tried it. – just exploring. the Haiga #02 October 2012 post was the result of this exploration on my part – a very different result than Angie goes after in her work. it was a lot of fun

    maybe you know this site already. it’s free and online. you can click “Edit a Photo” and upload an image from your computer. then there are Lots of ways to alter and explore.

    another 30 Days of Haiga player is exploring how to create images too and has found a lot of options from online work sites to downloadable programs from online – all free i believe. a lot has come out since i was playing in this area online. way cool on that.

    image is a different way to work and think in connecting to words – i find that fun.

    i like what you are doing too.

    as i began to read this poem it felt like a chant-like petition to me – a request from the soul/spirit of being. i like that idea. the one word “their” (Line 5) altered that sense. that word makes the poem a telling of what is happening rather than a direct interaction of the request as it takes place (imo) – the act of doing.

    i find that way interesting how one word can alter the entire meaning of the work that way. if “their” in this case was “your” – the meaning and sense would be entirely different. then it becomes a beautiful petition to these “melodious sounds” (again imo).

    1. Thank you Rick! I’ve been trying to keep up with your posts but you are far ahead and much more diligent than myself but 4:30am comes early so often tired give way and I don’t make it to my site. But I will continue to explore and see what else I can come up with. It is rather enjoyable to see what the end result will be.
