Break Down

visualize whatever
it takes to
BREAK DOWN the pain
to soothe you

see the ocean’s salty
 brine and feel the
WIND bring it
back to you

catch the rainbow’s
glistening
SHINE in colors
capturing you

fantasize of angel
wings and feel
WRAPPED in a
softening of you

visualize whatever
it takes to
BREAK DOWN the pain
to soothe you

visualize another
place outside
fantasize too
UNRAVELING the pain
will soothe you

My granddaughter has been having a myriad of health problems for some time now. At the age of 16 Samantha has known what it is like to not always be well, especially as her mother has Lupus, but now she too is not well much of the time. She was born with Psoriasis, which is not at all common, but now has been diagnosed with juvenile Fibromyalgia. Her next appointment will be to discern the funtion of her thyroid, which seems not to be working. She is a positive young woman and a joy in my life and will need to adjust how she does life a a very young age. I love you Sammie!

  1. Renee I so have empathy with your Granddaughter FMS is not pleasent.. and Painful especially when it flares.. This has been with me on an off for yrs… But as Ive said before I have Accupunture to help with pain which for me has been very successful.. I just have to pace myself and not over do it… Easier said than done some days.. And yes I still pay for overdoing things especially in the garden…
So I send your granddaughter Sammie my thoughts … for some days you do not know where to put yourself.. My heartfelt thoughts are sent.. Blessings.. Sue

    1. My youngest brother and myself both have Fibromyalgia and yes, it is certainly a day to day thing learning to live with pain and fatigue. I think Sammie will adjust but it will take time. Thank You!

  2. always something put in our way to challenge us, isn’t there. As if it wasn’t enough for your daughter to have Lupus, now your granddaughter has health problems too. I hope she can find some relief, yes, a positive attitude does help. Lovely prose.

    1. It seems the family is plagued with auto immune problems. Not something you would want to have but something that simply is a part of life so we do the best we can. Thank You!

    1. There is no cure for Fibromyalgia, which both my youngest brother and myself have, or for my oldest daughter’s Lupus but one just has to adjust how to do life and get enough sleep and eat right and when there is a really bad day there are some drugs to take the edge off for awhile. I, myself, have used visualization for many years and it helps to get sleep to come, which on some nights is difficult. But tomorrow is another day and with the morning always new and different things to come. Life is to be lived. My Sammie is a strong young woman like her mother so I know she will learn to adjust. Thanks for your thoughts.
