Dreams pensive she is
lulled to sleep
smell of citrus touching
from inside out
real enough to taste
juice flowing
On a summer breeze she
walks among orange groves
heady from the scent
Warm air pulling her down
among green grasses
where soon eyes are
heavy with sleep
While in the real world of
pillows and quilts a
window opens to the
night air gently whispering
her name in response
to her calling
Her dreams follow releasing
her again breath heavy
with scent of citrus

Thank You Trisha! I am glad you like what I’ve done…tried to do. I am not good at computers so this last year has been a year of trial and error. I did upgrade so I can do a little more. I do love citrus…perhaps because I was raised in California where citrus groves are everywhere and people have orange and lemon trees in their yards.

A lovely writing my friend
Here in Mildura we have citrus groves and grape vines all around us
The scent of oranges , mandarines and lemons fill the air at picking time
and the supermarkets smell of fresh squeezed oranges , a lovely aroma
You wrote well on the subject

How wonderful to have such as the scent of citrus all around you. Where I was raised in California there was much of what you speak of but here in Washington where I raised my children not so much…except maybe grape vines. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you Sue! I’ve switched out the background as it was brought to my attention that it is a possible distraction to what I write so hope you like this new one as well.

The oranges look so inviting! I was amazed at the new look. Not so sure I like the sharpness of the pencils background. It seems to detract my eyes away from your writing somehow. I hope you don’t mind my saying that at all. Being honest.

Thank you for your suggestion, Bren. I have switched out the background to more plain colors that hopefully are softer and not so distracting. I was trying to bring in that part of me that is an artist but the new background colors, I believe, are very nice as well.
