Trepidation follows my
heart to cling to me
as a shadow
following me
always close
tugging at my sleeve
with whispered angst
urging me to worry
plying my thoughts
with tumultuous yearning
to follow a path
leading nowhere
but to the
depths of despair but
I cannot as I
turn my head
sever the chain
that binds me and
walk away for only
letting go
gives me the freedom
that I seek
that gives me peace

Renee, what a deep poem… Often we are held by those unseen chains that bind us, and we cannot see our way forward and yet we do not know what holds us back.. Letting go is one of the hardest things for any of us to do…
Love and Blessings sent your way my dear Renee, and I wish you and yours a wonderful New and Bright New Year for 2012…~Dreamwalker x

Thank you Gayle. Freedom is often fleeting even though we know how to catch a glimpse of it.

Renee, sorry I have not been keeping up to date. We are in the midst of a move…
On your marvelous poem: The idea of chains – and they are SO literal – is great. I can actually see them on people walking down the street – chains that bind a person inward, that hang their head low, that avoid the glances of others. This was powerful stuff, a real achievement. Peace, Amy
