Driftwood Opinions

Opinions swirling
like dust at your
feet resemling bits
of driftwood carnage

Upon which should you
choose to pay respect
as royalty would when
they are paying homage

Whilst sand and seas
polish them smooth a
tabula rasa is left you
amidst fragile ideals

    1. Thank You Marja! I think we all do take notice of others’ opinions but in the end we make our own choices and those are the ones we will have to live with. Sometimes it can be difficult to do….or at least that has been my experience.

  1. Lovely verse Renee.. ‘amidst Fragile Ideas ‘ .. Yes thise world is held together with many things which seem very fragile.. But even if we may seem adrift as the wood in the ocean Renee…We come to land upon the shore..eventually..
The Ocean of Life holds many lessons.. But we sail the Seas and we weather the storms.. Our Thoughts now are starting to merge as one as the rivers flow together into the Ocean of life.. coming together As ONE..

Love and Light dear Renee…. your image you created fits beautifully.. 🙂

  2. The blank slate is actually, for me, a blessing. Cleansed of the thoughts of others imposed upon me by media and by society, I fill my slate and then, once it’s perfectly scritched upon… I let the spirit smooth it once more.

This is a truly lovely poem, Renee. I’d submit it if I were you, seriously. There is an elegance here – and one does not need the image to get the message!
