The Versatile Blogger Award

Versatile Blogger Award

A  visitor to my blog has nominated me for The Versatile Blogger Award.  Thank you so much to Gayle Walters Rose at http://bodhirose.wordpress.com. She is always so very gracious and has paid me many fine compliments regarding my writing.  This is the first time I have been nominated for an award and I am truly humbled.  Thank you Gayle!

  1. Thank the person who gave you this award and link back to his/her blog.
  2. Next nominate 15 bloggers for this award and notify them about the nomination.
  3. Finally, tell readers seven things about yourself

The following bloggers I feel deserve this nomination without a doubt.

1) Amy Barlow Libatore  http://sharplittlepencil.wordpress.com

2) Becca Givens http://beccagivens.wordpress.com

3) Bren http://daydreamertoo.com

4) EarlyBird http://mangetoutetc.wordpress.com

5) Elizabeth http://1sojournal.wordpress.com/

6) Lady Nimue http://ladynimue.wordpress.com/

7) Marja http://dutchcorner.blogspot.com

8/ Mike Patrick http://thepoetsquill.wordpress.com

9) Pamela http://wordsandthoughtspjs.wordpress.com

10) Pat Cegan http://patcegan.wordpress.com

11) Sarah http://sarsm.wordpress.com

12) Trisha http://sharmishthabasu.wordpress.com

13) Viv http://vivinfrance.wordpress.com

14) Sue http://suedreamwalker.wordpress.com

It might be a little more difficult to tell even seven things about me but I will give it a whirl.

1)  I have five adult children and 13 grandchildren (this not counting the newly acquired ones due to my two oldest children’s new significant others…that would be about 9 more)

2)  My passion other than writing is music. I play the piano but am very rusty.

3) I’ve sung in performing choruses and choirs and did the occasional solo in church and all this years past.

4) Over the years I’ve done walks/runs for various good causes to raise money such as the March of Dimes, AIDS, Heart Walk, and recently Lupus for my daughter

5)  I am a ‘Jill’ of many things and over the past seven years have done much ‘to do’ things on my house (lately with the help of my daughter and son-in-law and early on with my oldest daughter and sons).  Climbing 23 foot ladders I have decided is not my forte. I did to paint the trim and won’t again.

6) I graduated from a local university with a degree in Sociology and did a year of graduate study at a seminary in Berkeley CA…began at the age of 35.

7)  I really do not like computers at all and have had to figure most of the Blog thing out on my own but it serves a wonderful purpose and that is to be able to do what I love and to connect with others who have the same passion.

  1. Thank you so much for your nomination Renee, (not wishing to seem as if I’m bragging at all) but I had already been nominated for this by Chimnese but I really appreciate your thinking of me and the lovely comment you left too. It’s nice to know a little bit more about you. Want to come paint my house? (joking) LOL

  3. Thanks very much for nominating me for the award, Renee, but I’m afraid I’m going to decline it. (I’ve already done so on previous occasions)

    1. No problem at all. I kind of thought that some of the people I chose probably had been nominated before but as this is my first time I wanted to choose those whose sites I so enjoy and that inspire me. Thank You!

thanks for sharing yourself with us, you are not “jill”, you are a true poet, your artworks are amazing too.

i am a die hard computer addict. 😉

    1. I admire that you are so good with the computer but when I grew up there were no computer to be had but only old Royal typewriters. I never touched a computer until my early thirties. Thank you for your comments, Trisha. It does mean so much as writing is truly a passion.

  5. Hi Renee, Thank you Very much for the award.. I am flattered to be considered and although I have accepted a similar award graciously before I never put it on my blog as I didnt do what you have done and follow through.. Me being me..

But this time I think I will, It was good to learn a little more about you, And I would love to play the Piano… I used to play a very little bit when I was younger as my Mother played piano. but she didnt really have time or the inclination to teach me.. But I played by ear.. And Im sure many would have wished for ear plugs LOL.. at the time..

You are very wise not to go climbing ladders!… you can be Jill and not be Tarzan lol.. Love visiting your space too, as I love your poems… and need to catch up with some on here… Time for me is the biggest factor, as it seems to just vanish when Im on here Blog hopping in internet-space..

    1. I have never had an award so did want to put it here. It is quite an honor to be nominated and for someone else to feel I am worthy and I so feel the same about you. I did climb that ladder but never again. I’ve always had an ear for music and really, it matters not that you play or don’t because if you love it it is all good. You at least tried. I will blog more now that the rain has set in. As always thank you for visiting.

  6. Renee – congratulations on much deserved recognition!! You are blossoming more and more!

I am touched by your nomination … I appreciate it. Thank you. It may take me a few days to follow through as I am traveling (again) for the next two weeks and my entries may be quick and/or spotty.

Enjoy the recognition with many blessings ~~

  9. Thank you Renee, but I have been nominated before, so will decline. It is great to learn a bit more about you. My older siblings both had piano lessons but my father said I didn’t need them because I was an instrument (singer). When I was in my thirties, I bought myself a guitar and swapped home cooked meals for lessons. Haven’t played for some time because of arthritis, but loved it when I could. And I wouldn’t get near that ladder, I’m terrified of hieghts. Thanks again for the mention and all of your visits,

    Elizabeth

    1. I hate heights but my sons, I guess, hate them more because no one would come so I did the ‘white knuckle’ to paint the trim but never again. I tried teaching myself the guitar once. I love music but stuck to the piano. My arthritis, too, is a bother. Well, will just keep on keeping on, as they say.

    1. I did at one point but now it is just my working full time and family that on occasion make it a busy one. Although I do wish I had more time to write. I guess I will keep that at the top of my ‘Wish List’.
