The gentleman who took the photo combined his talents for photography with looking at ship wrecks beneath the ocean. This particular wreck was a German ship sunk in World War II and was enroute to Germany with a myriad of things for the soldiers including many of these motorcycles. Another photo he took was of a Volkswagon, that at one time (I’m sure) was new but still sits at the bottom of the ocean along with everything else that was on board. I wasn’t looking for this kind of photo, as I had already written and titled my post, but when I found it could not resist and it seemed to fit so well.

That’s a fabulous picture. How the heck did it stay there so long and, standing up too! 🙂

I so agree with you Sue! We will never really know how much is there but those things will be for future generations to discover.

Isn’t the Web an amazing source of photos. Every time I write a poem, I find the perfect picture. It is also humbling to know that we seldom have an original idea as when ever I search with the title of my poem, I find lots of pictures! lol
Lovely poem, Renee. Hugs, pat

It makes you wonder how much is forgotten beneath the surface of the ocean. They are all treasures for someone to find.

I couldn’t believe it when I found this photo and to believe all of these things remain the same as they were for so many years.

Funny how things that appear to be forgotten or frozen in time are preserved forever by the watery graves. Almost as if to say, “we will never die”, but good thing the German army went down and never came up again. What a nightmare time this must have been for so many people.Candy
