Fireflies in a night sky
beheld by two sparkling eyes
Butterflies drift on the air
small paws to capture there
tall grass to seek its’ prey
all within the light of day
cardboard boxes to hide in
now a lion’s lair and den

There is a sublime simplicity to cats. Some say they are aloof; I call them independent. They do their own thing, but mine have always been there for me when I was depressed or in pain. Our long-ago cat Missy used to know when I had cramps and jump onto my lap to warm the pain, my own little hotpad. Thanks for this sweet tribute to woman’s best friend! Amy

The picture is absolutely captivating. The ode to the cat is wonderfully warm and admiring. Together they are so right on. Thank you,

Fun poem about a much loved animal..our cats. As I live on a game preserve, I do not have a cat or dog now, but do have wonderful jungle cats such as onca which looks like a leopard, jaguars, and small jungle cats that come to visit me. Cats are very special. The animals in our lives can teach us so much about how to love. What gifts they are. Hugs, pat
