Strands of hair as silver threads
shining dimly in the light as
hazel eyes peruse photographs of
children, grandchildren, those
great-grandchildren looking
back with smiles frozen, another
time, other places in the past
Mi padre recuerdos en la luz del dia
Strands of hair as silver threads
shining soft as silk on ears of
corn her eyes treasured memories
held in photographs, giving back
years stolen in hands frail aged
with spots, he sees framed the
importance, a families life shared

Pictures give us a glimpse backwards in time. The memories we hold dear frozen in time will now last forever, long after our loved ones are gone.

Beautiful words – beautiful imagery. I love how you have used repetition here, softly, almost discreetly.

Hi – I just wondered if you’ve thought of adding ‘tags’ on your posts? Adding even simple ones like ‘poetry’, ‘age’, ‘father’ in this one could help attract more readers from WordPress to your awesome poetry!
If you already do this, or don’t want to tag anything now, or ever, just ignore my little suggestion! đŸ˜€ đŸ˜‰
Your friend,
