A Loquacious Morning

The morning wakens with a silent hushed breath
wet dew upon the grass leaving in its’ wake
the first dazzling warmth of sun rays
giving life the first inkling to stir

where swallows chirp in bird song loudly
swooping as if lifted by warm breezes
signaling to each other as they
seem to float on invisible air currents

as this new day leaves hesitation behind
heralding change as if a speech is nigh
unable to abate such verbosity
loquacious in eager announcement

to be heard even in a last falling leaf
caught in warmest subtle puffs of air
or the first cherry blossoms bright
as Spring has finally appeared

December Passion

the Fall brought her to me warm and soft
with dark brown eyes and tiniest hands
reminding me nine months prior to the
month of December when passion ignited
fervor between cotton sheets and darkness
transforming cold into heated pleasure
where in the aftermath holidays came
filling the kitchen with baking of pies,
sweet sugary cookies warm from the oven
& the promise of love lasting a lifetime

Heart's Passion

Furry Groceries

This is in response to Rick Daddario’s 30 DOH/Days of Haiga for September.  You can see more responses at http://rickdaddario.com/blog. The photo is my own taken of my two cats before they passed on. Oliver, the caramel colored cat, lived to 18yrs of age and Hemingway, his darker coated friend, lived to 16. Miss them both.

Furry Coziness

******The Touch of Laughter******

tumultuous came the winter
undecided it made its’ retreat
the sun hidden in grey dark corners
such as the time you left me

you tried to return to my side
sitting within breath so shallow
your warmth cooled as by glacier snow
solidity of form now but shadow

my ear touched upon your laughter
a cool breeze then touched my skin
you would be with me as always
to hold as part of my heart within

Heart Within

Image Taken From Morgue File

My brother died many years ago now but the one thing that has never left me is the sound of his laughter.  I cannot say how but I remember the sound of it as though it were yesterday and he is sharing that part of himself with me.

Your Vanilla

shower cascades down as
steam rises it brings
a delicious moment
and i inhale the
fragrance of
vanilla

it carries me along
as the breeze does
a flight of fancy
eyes closed
i lean toward
a revery

i breathe in the scent
of candles of
fresh vanilla sent
to me of you
and your
memory

found in a distant past
to the smell of
baking in your
kitchen with
warm cookies
but alas

i realize you are gone
but you are here
and really never
far as i inhale
always your
vanilla

Sun tentatively
peeking behind
stormy clouds
parting just enough
teasing to warm
