*****SPEAK TO ME OF BIRTHING WATERS*****

Speak to me of oceans deep
of harbors safely keeping me
safe within rocky shores
crashing waves reaching more
of what I yearn to be and so
speak to me of oceans deep

Speak to me of waterfalls high
emptying into pools that sigh
touching swift my plaintive soul
crying out to search and more
of what I yearn to be and so
speak to me of waterfalls high

Speak to me of birthing waters
releasing life on which I falter
a gift her soul touching on mine
my inkwell ready to pen her lines
her life connects to me and so
speak to me of birthing waters

****One Cottonwood Seed***

cottonwood seeds
adrift on the wind
living things
brought forth alive
as on the sea’s
changing tide

relentless in their need
to find safe harbor

cottonwood seeds
clinging to the thistle
purple flower bright
caught in the storm drain
fluttering
from the car vent
resting on a dashboard

relentless in their need
to find safe harbor

cottonwood seeds
in piles by the curbside
soft as downy feathers
white as the newly
fallen snow
safety in numbers

relentless in their need
to find safe harbor

a cottonwood seed
catches an updraft
as birds in flight do
coasting for miles
from where it grew
a patch of earth
to take root

relentlessly it’s come
to find safe harbor

The Fulcrum

i was unaware that i was
caught in a fulcrum of
endless time whizzing
like the white noise of
traffic moving on the
street below leveled

at me never really able
to penetrate beneath
my walled in psyche
keeping me safe so
that age cannot find
me except within the

particles of sand forming
a mirror where upon
i momentarily glance to
see time has captured
me there quite in the
center of endless storms

Hope you will bear with me as I take on something new here. I have found some software online called Real Paint World that takes doing art images online a bit further than Micro Soft Paint. I got really frustrated after lots of trial and errors and then could not, for the life of me, figure out how to save it where I could pull it into the post but finally did.  I have been so taken with a site by Rick Daddario with images and Haikus at    http://rickdaddario.com/blog.htm  (I can never come close) that I decided to go out and get some software I could try on my own.  Thanks for your patience.
