*****SPEAK TO ME OF BIRTHING WATERS*****

Speak to me of oceans deep
of harbors safely keeping me
safe within rocky shores
crashing waves reaching more
of what I yearn to be and so
speak to me of oceans deep

Speak to me of waterfalls high
emptying into pools that sigh
touching swift my plaintive soul
crying out to search and more
of what I yearn to be and so
speak to me of waterfalls high

Speak to me of birthing waters
releasing life on which I falter
a gift her soul touching on mine
my inkwell ready to pen her lines
her life connects to me and so
speak to me of birthing waters

*****Fragile Life Reminders*****

fragile life reminders
buried beneath
mountainous depths
mudslides
too close to home
& in other countries
that now feel close

reminders felt in flood waters
helpless lives
with nothing to grasp
taken by the current
nature’s release
that accumulated
from tiny raindrops

reminders felt in tornadoes
hurricane force winds
sweeping across land
far from any ocean
a corkscrew & no bottle
a swirling massive rage
filled with debris
nature’s play things

reminders as the mower
cuts through grass
a jungle habitat
of tiniest creatures
a green frog thumb size
scampering for safety
a hand captures him
release beneath shaded trees
fragile life reminders

fragile

There have been, recently, many natural disasters across the US. In my own State of Washington an unheard of mudslide claimed many lives on a sunny day. In the midwest news of tornadoes and in many other States floods from too much rain. I happened on a tiny frog in my yard and thought of all the lives lost in the blink of an eye and had my eye not caught his movement, he too would be gone. Life is fragile.

******Crimson Red Tide*******

dodging raindrops as though
they were standing still
her mind drifts
like the tide
to another time
another page
in the day
of whose life
she knows

the wind carries salt spray
on the warm breeze
& it settles on skin
browned by the sun
& she watches her there
as she stands
taking it in

the ocean teeming with life
watered down crimson red
the tide restricted
of swimming
but she wades just a bit
bare feet greeting
the sticky warmth of it

the smell of salty air
weighed down
by the life seemingly
contained
abounds as though
someone cast
a large net
meant to capture…
but not long after
it is gone

A Compass For Your Thoughts

compass rose mandala

Google Image

to be able to navigate through
timeless memories
steering clear of obstacles
careening intentionally
into elliptical forevers

stepping lightly past
moonlit nights kissed
by the fragrance of lilacs
spilling over from
sunlit days warm
as a breath of south wind

like peels of laughter
falling as rain driven
musical notes
cascading from
star dust covered bells

to bring back days on
beaches where the smell
of salt permeates the air
from briny ocean waters
to fall glistening
on your hair & skin

the smell of hot asphalt
beneath your feet as you
step lightly, a dance
of your own making
a revelry of heart and soul

to be able to navigate through
timeless memories
using a compass for
your thoughts
to guide you

on your journey of sojourning
& limitless imagination
testing the waters with your
inkwell muse….well,
what could be better
than that

Remnants Loved

Remants Loved

Altered Google Image

we might walk along
the ocean shore
to collect driftwood
a carnage
i implore
washed here from
other distant lands

or linger as i do now
in your embrace
listening to words
that will leave
no sign or trace
we have been here as
the wind and sea
carry footprints

away so effortlessly
but tell me only
of your
passion filled heart
and do not share
that which you
should not impart
of secrets once shared

with another heart true
who you left for a time
  so that you
  could walk with me
  here to collect driftwood
  washed smooth and clean
remnants loved and
left by the sea

Spirit Play

Altered Google Image

my spirit plays amongst
microscopic particles
of sand sparkling
left clean

as the salty ocean water
leaves trails
of foam behind

an intruder…
but nought as it
takes flight drifting
in and out of wildflowers

as a honey bee
gathering
golden pollen
from within each
petaled wonder

taking with it the
beauty of fragrance
it once again rises

to find healing in
the sunrays
cleansing in
the raindrops

letting colors of
the rainbow
penetrate
to become one
with its’ soul

to wrap itself
in grandeur of
nature to embody
it all

my spirit shares a
moment in time
cascading
down waterfalls

smoothing pebbles
in a stream
catching glimpses and
reflections
its’ life
embodiment of mine

Star Dust Applause

when will the knowing come
of when you will need me
before the Spring snow melts
as glacier waters freeing

as tidal pools are not
brimming forth with
ocean creatures spiny life

when celestial heavens
spill forth the stars to
create another Milky Way
 with star dust applause

when will this knowing come
candescent as a candle flame
in your beauty that is you

it will come without knowing
in the richness of your life
like filtered sun into my heart
woven tightly all the threads
amidst vast and cloudless skies

Yesteryears Gone

wind full of sea salt surrounding
us walking the boardwalk
wooden planks reminiscent of
yesteryears gone by
but are they really
gone

footsteps lightly falling next
to us, fashions changing
from one piece bathing
suits to ones…barely

while ocean sands remain holding
sunbathers catching rays or
covered beneath large
umbrellas while

children now as then create
sand castles and some
belly surf while others
ride surfboards not
heard of then

we walk on amidst the chatter
of others the breeze
bringing to our ears a
cacophony of thunderous
ocean waves and
laughter

all this caught in a panoramic
moment in time the hourglass
sands swift bringing
from yesteryears gone by
but are they really
gone

Break Down

visualize whatever
it takes to
BREAK DOWN the pain
to soothe you

see the ocean’s salty
 brine and feel the
WIND bring it
back to you

catch the rainbow’s
glistening
SHINE in colors
capturing you

fantasize of angel
wings and feel
WRAPPED in a
softening of you

visualize whatever
it takes to
BREAK DOWN the pain
to soothe you

visualize another
place outside
fantasize too
UNRAVELING the pain
will soothe you
