Dreamscapes

Life imitates dreamscapes not defined within illusion
fleeting images of happiness only written in a song
where you tumble freely like Alice in the rabbit hole
grasping at the path that will carry you along

in colors brilliant that set you apart from the crowd
carrying you light hearted past lyrics more than song
where sun and moon shines a landing upon a billowy cloud
footsteps now inside your dream for life has come along

Purveyor of Dreams

Dream Purveyor

I am not a purveyor of dreams
for sleepless nights are undressed
and shorn of innocence
peppered weary of thoughts
like thorns

not even scented with night orchids
nor born of water lilies nocturne
viewed less in colored
prisms dim

for I do not fly weightless
high above the earth
casting giant shadows
beneath the light of the moon
revealing me integral
in the realm
of hope
of desire

I cannot be the purveyor of dreams
for life’s knowing opens
only to one garnering dreams
in nights deepest sleep
with orchids fragrant
and water lilies
a buoy for the ecstasy
of flight

Perhaps the purveyor of dreams
is illusive, a hidden vestige
of night’s firmament
for to purvey dreams
one must hold onto them
one must dream

Silver Threads Of Nature

Two photos were taken from Public Domain Pictures and digitally altered by myself.

Silver Threads

I will leave you the peace in my soul
that will find you in the love of my heart

for I will leave you the memories shared
whether joyous dancing on the stage of life
or sadness fading in the shadows of day

for life has woven me a colorful garment
with silver threads of nature’s wisdom

that has hollowed out a place for you
where warm you will be in the sun’s embrace
followed by the path of a starlit moon

within which voices will sing in stardust
to lull you to sleep at the end of each day

where always you will wake to bird song
within which you will hear my voice true
giving you the peace within my soul
surrounded by the love within my heart

The Moon Waxing Gibbous

Image Taken From Public Domain Pictures and Digitally Altered by Myself.

First Moon 2018

The moon waxing gibbous yet still
slicing a swath of brilliant light
as a star cloaked in clouds of grey
heralds in another new year

while fallen leaves rain-soaked
leave paths of design wind-blown
on still another cold winter night

speaking in cursory tones of apathy
clothed in ice or frosty breath
billowing as tiny puffs of clouds
as revelers send fireworks skyward

each past year is now a footprint
knowing garnered as grains of sand
stitched into the living fabric

of each life taking every step
along an ocean bathed
in luminous moonlight

as unique as the night sky filled
with a moon waxing gibbous

Memories Dying Embers

Memory Illusive

I see you tangibly close beside me
laughter still within you
a smile on your face

do you still see me here & now
or a trace of a girl dancing

brevity of memories hinting at life
shared with children…with her

do you know she is gone traveling
with the moon & stars in heaven

I see you tangibly close beside me
laughter still within you
a smile on your face

do you know your time has shifted
as the sands within the tides

ensnaring the memories you captured
now scattered fragments of light

still your eyes embrace her once more
a cherished resemblance of me

wisps of years gone encircling you
briefly in moments & then vanishing

I see you tangibly close beside me
laughter still within you
a smile on your face

the embers are still glowing brightly
not ready to engage in dying

I know your spirit still resides within
I know there still is you smiling

***I Dreamt of The Moon***

I dreamt that I met you smiling
long before you were born

that I told you in sweet loving
to the moon and back we’ll go

that we held hands briefly soaring
seeking the beauteous moonscape

we traversed stars in the milky way
in meteorite showers of gold we played

we walked along dazzling moon beams
silken threads our carpets in space

too soon you left me in wonderment
life’s cord cut a spiraling empty place

& you sped quickly down to earth
faster even than Halley’s comet

that day I finally saw your birth
I remembered our dance among stars

marveled at so much of me in you
that your hands held stardust imbued

Moon and Back

*A Breath of Wind and A Dew Drop*

I am part of something greater than myself
some would call God and others Goddess
or perhaps Buddha,Allah,Jehovah or Shiva

something greater as the breath of the wind
breathing life into all that exists
as the raindrops falling, filling the oceans
becoming rivers, lakes and waterfalls

something greater as simple as a dewdrop
clinging to my skin in the early hours of morn
as it clings to the leaves and spider webs

something greater even as the universe spins
holding within it pinpoints of light
from an ominous burning star that is the sun
moonbeams full of the wonder of stardust

I am a part of that something greater even
as it exhales in anguish breathing as the wind
creating devastating storms of despair

causing the oceans to rise up flooding the
banks of land, becoming hurricanes
and I hear and feel them all because I
am part of something greater

I know the sigh of relief breathed into a breeze
a rainbow after storms the colors of hope
shining through a waterfall because I am

part of something greater

***PINIONED WINGS***

She does not know if she will ever fly
or be like the bird long pinioned
whose wings no longer give her flight
but keeps the world beyond her reach
like raindrops on the window pane

Will she be the lady tied fast with ropes
to the bow of the sailing ship
to briefly raise her upturned arms
and reach beyond the waves
to touch the horizon’s slip

Can she be free of her pinioned wings
and be feathered of color once more
in the childlike quest to reach and dream
will she ever fly to distant shores

Or will she drown in the expanse
of salt licked foam brine
and find no purchase to hold her

Until her wings are pinioned no more
and she spreads her arms again
to once more find her soul can soar
removed of all its’ fetters

She will ride sun rays and moon beams
threaded brilliant with tiny stars
in the sky she can thus be with them
for it will only then be true
she will know she can surely fly

Flight of Bird

*****Bring Me Wildflowers*****

bring me wildflowers
& set them
on the sideboard
by the window
to catch
the suns’ rays

for the petals
that dapple all
of the surfaces
like tiny pixies
set to play

bring me laughter
to eclipse the day
as the moon does
to the surfaces
of the sun

a smile to soften
the harsh edges
of all anger
a candle with which
to light the dawn
