Mellow Yellow Monday

Here in Washington on the 4th of July the Blue Angels perform over Lake Washington. I’ve not been to the actual performance but have had the pleasure of seeing them practice their routine when they fly overhead. This photo is one of many you can find on the internet. Happy 4th to all who celebrate and for those of you who don’t have a Wonderful Day!

Found this photo on the internet of a very nasty type of weed here in Washington State, a type of thistle, that has been banned (per the website) that attracts butterflies and bees. They might be banned but they still grow here as I pluck them out of my garden every year. Thorny devils. Ouch!

Every year here in the city of Puyallup, they have the Spring Fair. It is not quite as big as the annual fair held in the Fall but just as fun. I found this photo on a site dedicated to some of the goings on at the fair and wanted to share this photo of the pig races. And “They’re Off!”

This week I decided to find a photo of what is surely the most famous of glass artists and he began right here in Tacoma, where I live. He is Dale Chihuly and the photo below was taken of the walkway that has his blown glass art displayed for you to see as you walk toward the Museum of Glass. Enjoy!

Thought I would find another photo (not mine, sorry) but a beautiful one of Pike Place Market in Seattle, just a 30min drive from where I live. This market is a wonderful place with fresh fruit, vegetables, places to eat and people selling their crafts. One of the most famous things they do, of course, is to sell fresh fish as Seattle is next to the waterfront. I enjoy visiting here and this is a wonderful night shot. Enjoy!

Unable to find the photographer of this amazing photo. You can find more photos like it at a website called Destination 360.

Never have quite gotten use to the rain here in Washington but the beauty of the mountains, and on a clear day I can see Mt Ranier from my home, is awesome. The daffodil fields in this scene happen every year and we have a parade that goes through downtown with floats, a Daffodil Queen and court and a little of something for everyone. That will happen next month. Not my photo but found this on-line. Enjoy!

Wanted to show you an amazing photo taken by my niece, who is now 15yrs old, and who has been taking photos since before tiny fingers should have been able to. These yellow flowers are beautiful and the honey bee seems to think so as well.

This photo is one I found that reminds me of the fields of flowers we have in the Spring here in Washington (Spring has yet to announce itself) but these are in the beautiful country of Holland. Enjoy!
