I remember her walking
leaving espadrille
footprints on the
sandy shore
cosmic dust in the
evening sky a
star dust stream
settling amidst
diamond particles
in the sand
each step taken by
tide’s wavy hands
greedy seaweed
grasping broken
shells
she stares upon the
open sea
gazing hungrily
needing moon beams
to become a
path
taking her away
as dreamers
often do to
another land
a distant
horizon
when I next look
her footsteps
remain to
be swept away
in the foamy
tide as only the
espadrilles
remain
