The tiniest of hummingbirds
hummed to within my eyesight
hovering in the brisk air
of early morning
taking perhaps a tiny breath
with every beat of its minuscule
heart’s beating
& before I could take a breath of my own
sped to a tree branch distant
to be settled silently there
resting ever so briefly
then magically disappearing
from my vision but leaving
behind the wonder

Amazing tiny, speedy birds as they buzz in and out of view. Was surprised to see it in the very cold morning but made my day. Take care.

Why thank you Andrea. This same tiny being is now hovering to within my site about the same time every morning and I just stand and watch in awe.

Thank you Sue. I appreciate your kind words always. Sending hugs your way as well. Posted a poem today in memory of my dad who passed recently. No, not of the virus but just a very long life. We were close so will miss him as we tend to do when we lose someone we love. Do take good care.

Thank you Sue. Given that I have had to come to terms with not being able to attend a service, I am not doing too badly…though, like most with grief, it never really leaves but just changes and becomes something different. Much love to you my friend.
