A Dance of Trees and Bossa Nova

The clouds black in the distance
with patches of blue sky mingled in
as the clouds migrate close overhead

big fat drops of rain are resounding
everywhere they are hitting
with a big plop, a splat, being replaced
with millions more in their place

as I listen to the gentle, smooth refrain
of jazz and bossa nova I watch intently
trees in the distance are seemingly
swaying to and fro, branches lithe
leaves tremble as though listening

when it is the wind of nature’s breath
that propels them in their dancing
gives them the moves of the bossa nova
the rhythm of life as if speaking to me

what a glorious day to just be alive
to absorb your sounds of music playing
as we flutter to the peaceful strains
in synchronous harmony with the wind

    1. Thank You, Andrea. We in Washington have a strange mix of weather recently. It warms up and have actually had a few hot days and then it rather abruptly, clouds over as the wind pushes in some rain. But tomorrow could be hot again. One never knows. Stay well.

  1. Renee, I enjoyed these lovely dancing images of rain and wind. We’ve been having a lot of rainy weather here too. Sometimes it’s nice to be “stuck” inside to watch and listen.

Hope you’re doing as well as possible, and that you’re able to get out and enjoy the sunshine when it finally peeks out.

    1. Thank you, Betty. Yes, today is nicer weather and I am glad for it. I do get out..not as often as I would like but do. I come into Tacoma once or twice a month to help out a friend of mine and go to my appointments as well. She did not want to go into stores for the longest time so I did shopping for her and took her to the credit union as well. Now she is finally going to do her own shopping but when I am here I drive her in my car as she does not have one herself. Hope you are well and going out when you can for walks. Take care.

      1. Really glad to hear you’re getting out regularly, Renee. I haven’t gone anywhere in months, but that’s more due to back pain than anything else. I do hope someday things will return to a new normal…or rather a better normal, on all levels.
        Take good care.

    1. Thank you so much, Sue. Where I live in the country at my daughter’s house, there are very few trees and so when the wind comes it whips up quite a scene outdoors. I love listening to smooth jazz and bossa nova and when I saw the trees…well, my muse became spontaneous once more. Do take care. Sending Much love to you as well. xoxo
