Autumn leaves on a tree
imitate feathers on a bird
briefly burnished
orange and brown
before lightly drifting
one by one to the ground
an art deco lamp light
shining brightly
beneath a front porch roof
is keeping good company
with the wind chimes
whose notes do lightly soothe

Renee your digital art is progressing so well.. This is a wonderful image.. And fantastic words.. I could almost feel myself looking out from under the porch to the scene your portrayed 🙂 Thank you.
I am well dear Renee, and good to see you are making some time to be creative again.. 🙂

Thank you Sue. I do try with the digital art as I still am unable to figure out how to put my own art into a post. I think I will have to be content to do my art and not have it on my site. I have been doing more of it as well lately and actually sat down and played my piano today. I am quite rusty but it did feel good to play. 🙂

Fantastic.. that you had time to play your piano.. Please PLEASE make time for creating Music in your day… Its one of the best methods of healing .. So make at least 15 mins of your day every day to play Renee.. 🙂

Renee, I have not read you in quite a while, and you “still got it, babe!” as my friend David would say. This was serene, landed on my mind like a single leaf, restful, and reading it this evening, I think I’ll sleep better.
I have been doing art, but getting acrylic onto a blog when you can only take pix with your Android phone? YUCK! Glad you have branched out with different forms of art. Isn’t it freeing to have these types of therapy around? Love, Amy

Hi Amy, It is so good to see you here. I have been out of the picture for a long time now. The last couple of years have especially been stressful due to a system transition at work and my partner lost her job a year and a half ago and just found work recently. You, too, always ‘have it’ and thank you for the compliment because I still feel a bit stuck. Glad the words had a positive effect. Love, Renee

there’s something so soothing and peaceful about this… the light…the art deco lamp…the front porch…it feels so much like home even though i have no porch – and i would so love to have one… sigh

It is quite a small porch with a roof but enough to cover you when unlocking the door during a storm so it is nice. Thank You!

Thank You! The nights here are just now starting to have a Fall chill to them. I hope you are keeping warm if it is getting chilly there and if not…do enjoy the sun when it is out. 🙂
