a giant whirligig
with bright color
perches atop the
railing of a porch
standing still
not moving
no wind with which
to make it spin

Loved this, Renee. Is there anything sadder than a stockstill whirligig? A silent set of chimes? A quiet cricket? Really, it touched me in a special way. Thanks so much! Amy

You are so Welcome Amy! We’ve had fog for days now and is not going to clear for a few more. It is amazing how much one’s notice when movement comes to a standstill.

I bought one of this little colourful windmills in the summer for my granddaughter, she loved watching the wind play with it.. 🙂

I saw the large one on someone’s porch and as it is so foggy there is no wind to move it and it caught my eye. What a wonderful thing for you to do for your granddaughter.
