Night Unfolds

i have no memory
of times now flown
memory is veiled
or covered ‘oer

life’s brilliant moments
have yet to arrive
to grace my path
as an incoming tide

colors gold, silver, copper
unnoticed and diffused
grace other lives
a parsimonious ruse

days are now dark
running all together
as flocks of crows
amassing black feathers

caress filtered light of day
plaintive cries of my soul
blind of what i cannot see
another winter night unfolds

as an incoming tide…love that…and i think like on a beach, those moments keep coming…maybe there’s a pause, times when it gets darker but that incoming tide will sure swap on our shores again and again

  2. How beautifully Renee your words echo the night scene… As I look through my own window the mist rolls in a as the lights in homes are turned on.. Reflecting in the snow … A Cold but beautiful night…
    Lovely poem as always Renee….

    1. I was going to ask if you had snow in your area as I saw on the news that London was hit with lots of snow. We haven’t had any in the low lands here but the thick fog is hanging on and does not want to let the sun through. Thank You!

      1. Yes we had around 5 inches on Friday and today Monday morning it has snowed throughout the night again, many schools are closed in this area in the East Midlands and I have to go to work this afternoon. and not looking forward to trying to make the journey… The problem with being a support worker is that Its not a job you can just say I will stay at home too, as people rely upon our support.. The lady I support needs 24/7 care, so my shift starts at 3pm until 10-30pm when she goes to bed, and I sleep through the night in case she needs me in the night, I leave hopefully at 7-30am tomorrow.. If no other staff can make it, it means you stay there until you are relieved ..
So thats why Im hoping the snow stops soon! 🙂
