i was unaware that i was
caught in a fulcrum of
endless time whizzing
like the white noise of
traffic moving on the
street below leveled
at me never really able
to penetrate beneath
my walled in psyche
keeping me safe so
that age cannot find
me except within the
particles of sand forming
a mirror where upon
i momentarily glance to
see time has captured
me there quite in the
center of endless storms

Hope you will bear with me as I take on something new here. I have found some software online called Real Paint World that takes doing art images online a bit further than Micro Soft Paint. I got really frustrated after lots of trial and errors and then could not, for the life of me, figure out how to save it where I could pull it into the post but finally did. I have been so taken with a site by Rick Daddario with images and Haikus at http://rickdaddario.com/blog.htm (I can never come close) that I decided to go out and get some software I could try on my own. Thanks for your patience.

nice…very cool on trying something new…underlines your poem beautifully…
so
that age cannot find
me except within the
particles of sand forming
a mirror…love that…this mirror of time…the sand forming it..isn’t glass made of sand anyway? gives this a lot of depth..

Thanks Claudia! Your input means so much. I admire your gift for writing. I love art as well as writing and do draw and paint but wanted to do something to transfer a bit of art, although different in creativity and application, to my site. I think this might work.

Ditto on Claudia’s comment.
Have fun with the paint program, it’s what it’s meant for 🙂 That’s a good pic too!

A bit frustrating but I think I’ve got enough figured out now to perhaps do something different in my site. Looking for an image that is public domain or a google one that doesn’t belong to anyone in particular is the first step and then doing the software program. Thanks so much!

aloha Renee – i like the movement and flow of your poetry. i like where you began and then where it ends up.
this wording “where upon i” seems a little awkward (in the third stanza) on first reading. i wonder if there is another way to say what you are saying there so the flow remains fluent for the reader?? i’m not really qualified to say that of course – you may be doing something that i am not aware of as a writer. so i’m just wondering… i hope you dont mind.
and i hope you KNOW i am delighted that your are playing with image.
i like this. i especially like that you are experimenting and using your blog to explore the result. i think seeing our work up on it’s own out of the context of where we created it (so to speak) helps us in a number of ways. we not only see it differently – more as others do – but we get feedback from others (hopefully) about what they see – what others see in our work is always a good thing and helpful (imo). so i like when people tell me what they see in work.
you have learned something it took me a long time to figure out – how to place words so that they pop and stand out. i like what you did with the words in the image.
you are playing with things that give me ideas. i like that too.
now that you have figured out how to save and post, i will encourage you to do it again. and do it as often as possible. that will anchor the process for you and then it will become easier and easier.
for now i also encourage you to experiment and learn one or two new things each time you create or work on an image. if you do that each time, your knowledge will accumulate and add up to the point where it multiplies and then eventually the rate of learning and what you will know and be able to do will increase at an exponential pace… cool on that.
way cool on your initial posting and experimenting. it will be way fun to follow where you go with this. have fun and play. i like that because as i’ve said, if i’m having fun and playing, i’ll want to do it more. aloha.

Thank You! You are the only other one than Trisha who has tempted me to try something different with images. At first I simply knew I wanted something more to go with my writing but then came across Trisha’s site and what she does with just Micro Soft Paint is amazing but then I saw your site and thought..if I could just pull in some software from online, maybe…So, there you go. I think I have something else to add. I had better luck with the next one.

Thanks Pamela! Another way to do art for me as it is so difficult to get to my other art…drawing and painting and such…and I miss that. Sometimes I have my hands into too many pots. LOL 🙂

Wow…you’re making some cool creative strides over here, Renee. Love your poem…it’s like you caught a snapshot of yourself in a mirror…between the “endless storms.”

I have wondered how I could enter artistic images of my own without necessarily having to enter photos and came across Rick Diddario’s site and got me thinking. I already tried Micro Soft Paint such as Trisha uses but wanted a bit something more. I found some software online and have been trying it out. Not a systems type person I am finding I am surprised that I can do this. Glad you like it…and the post. Thanks!

Thank you Trisha. I found this software online and am using it. Still lots I do not know but play with it to try and create some new image each time. The above is the first one I did. Again, I am so glad our paths crossed.
