phantom images between
midnight and dawn
collect in moonlit
rooms reflecting naught
but seamless pathways
sewn within the mystery
that fades but never
really is gone until
another day doth cease
we again shall stray
in phantom images between
midnight and the dawn

seamless pathways
sewn within the mystery… love how you capture the mood.. much going on between midnight and dawn.. in a real context but also metaphorically..

Thanks Claudia! Sometimes words come easiest when I am not thinking about them at all.

We tend to think the world stops while we sleep, don’t we? And yet, a whole new world is alive and and awake. The imagery in this is lovely Renee. 🙂

Thanks Bren! It is times when I am most relaxed and even resting to the point of sleep that my thoughts give rise to posts such as these. I wish I had more times like them.

A moody, dreamy poem…it can be a mysterious time between midnight and dawn…you put this beautifully, Renee.

Thank you Gayle. I suppose I write quite alot about dreams and night because I get so little sleep so it is an active time for my mind and body, even though I wish it were not.

Lately, I’ve had something on my mind and I’ve had difficulty sleeping too. It’s best for me to just give in to being awake and do some quiet activity…usually reading. I know it will pass as my life calms down. I’m also fortunate that I can nap if need be. Writing stirs me up too much..can’t do that before bedtime. xoxo
