I didn’t take this photo but a great shot by another photographer, whose name is in the left hand corner. This is a Red Breasted Sap Sucker, a bird in Washington State. I have so enjoyed seeing everyone’s pics on the Ruby Tuesday site and so wish I was a gifted photo taker so could show my own but always try to post something that comes from the State I live in to share with everyone.

Great shot of the bird.

As a kid I remember saying ‘sap sucker’ with a lisp for laughs…..I am glad to actually see one…isn’t it his head that’s red, and not his breast?!

Not sure why the name as both head and breast are red. They live here in Washington. When I first saw one I thought it to be a tiny woodpecker. I love your site. Just had a look around.

I, too, thought it was a kind of little woodpecker at first and they do make holes like the woodpecker so might be related in some way. It is quite pretty.

Hello, why don’t you take the plunge and start snapping photo images with any kind of camera you have. People take great photos using their I-phones or cell phones as well. While you’re out and about, keep your “eye out” for anything “Red” for a future Ruby Tuesday2 post.
Happy Ruby Tuesday 2. Grace

At this point I will have to be happy to look for photos I can post that others have done as I work fulltime and have some certain health issues. Maybe once I retire I can find energy to do more but now I have to pick and choose. I am a writer and artist foremost but I do love the photos I’ve seen others take. I even once posted one my niece took who is quite good and only 16yrs old. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
