Hello everyone! People are so gracious that no one let me know that the visual to my guestbook had up and disappeared! Someone signed in and when I went there….Poof!! It had vanished but thankfully none of my visitors ‘ comments. Just to let you know I have added another visual. Apparently when I chose to get the rights to my own site domain the WordPress visual for the Guestbook did not transfer over. I do appreciate everyone’s comments so look forward to seeing more.
Thank You!
Renee

Good that you learned about this. I don’t know why getting your own name stopped you having a guest book. It’s when you move to wordpress.org you get no support from them at all which is scary!. To be honest, I didn’t even know you could have a guest book. LOL Glad it’s all back again for you now. 🙂

It is the only thing I could think of that would be the reason the picture part went away but I simply entered something off the net that I found and added a comment and made my own entry to it and now it’s all good in any case. Sometimes WordPress can be confusing. Thanks!

Wishing you a Very Good Week ahead Renee Sometimes I think if the link breaks that can also be a problem.. In some of my old posts I hadnt realised but the place I keep my photos on Photobucket I changed into files, as I did this the links broke and so some of my early posts dated back to 08 had no picture link.. But I would have thought the links should have transfered with you..
Is there much difference in upgrading to your own site? I had concidered it.. But if links break I dont want to loose pictures etc..
Sorry to waffle on… And I only meant to say Have a great week.. Love Sue xxx

Hi Sue, The biggest difference is that you have more control over what images you can enter into the sides of your blog and the heading and also you can choose which type of font you want. There are still things I am exploring but I did make sure I saved certain links by writing them down (just in case) so that I could re-enter them. The image that went away from my guest book was specific to WordPress so that is probably why I could no longer use that but apart from that I haven’t really found alot of differences. I do feel it gives me greater control in some ways over what I do but I am still tied in somewhat to the WordPress arena, which is kind of a safety net in a manner of speaking. By having my own domain name I was able to insert the image of the little hippo with wings and the colors to the side. I could not change those things before because I chose a particular site format. So, a few differences and because it cost so little and made me feel better about what I was doing I chose to go ahead. But do think on it before deciding. I thought for quite awhile, actually. Hope this helps.
