the cosmic reality
presents
itself with
city scenes
buildings given to
windows complacent
within concrete
held together
with rebar
steel beams
the only sign of
warmth
the residents
inside completing a
persona resonating
together with the
beating hearts of
a humanity consumed
by technology
keeping it all
alive running smooth
until the plug is
pulled
lights out with
cosmic stardust
remaining

Thank you Trisha. I often wonder what it would be like without technology and in retrospect, anyone that has lived through a natural disaster or war…well, they would certainly know.

i have seen a lot of dooms day movies and “cast away” they gave me a very, very gloomy idea about how that life will be. 🙂

Yes, technology, for all its many marvels is isolating us to it, and only it. We are not so slowly forgetting how to interact properly with ‘real’ people, especially (I’ve noticed) the young ones.
Very nice writing Renee. Scary thoughts the further we advance into technology too.

I agree, Bren. I just caved into getting a ‘tablet’…not for reading books but for relaxing to play games on when I am stressed. Getting outdoors in the Northwest is sometimes not easy so all of this technology has helped and hindered us all. Thanks!

What a thought-provoking post, Renee. What if electricity disappeared? Maybe things would improve in the world.

We might actually find out what it is like to live…yes, indeed.

If you veer away from moderation..you may find yourself in trouble. We go overboard with too much technology..yes, what happens if it should get “turned off”. Best not get too dependent on anything. Excellent, Renee!

I so agree, Gayle, and sometimes I feel as though my whole life is dependent on it. Best not to forget the basics and to have pen and paper handy.

A very good discription of a concrete jungle.. No warmth or life in some of the High rise city buildings which are designed these days.. Excellent Poem Renee. x
