I don’t think you need be a person of any religious persuasion or faith to wonder at the wisdom that this one particular woman spoke. Inspiring.
“God is the friend of silence.
See how nature-trees, flowers, grass-grows in silence;
see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence…
We need silence to be able to touch souls.”
-Mother Teresa (1910-1997)

She was an amazing woman – I can go most of the day without speaking to anyone, so here’s to silence 🙂

Yes, silence is definitely golden for me, Renee. Silence to observe and shut out the maddening chatter of modern life 🙂

I agree. Silence is something that is very much needed and I feel I write a little easier when I have it surrounding me. Thank You!

I always find ‘myself’ in silence. I cannot imagine life spent in continual noise. Mother Teresa had such a lot of love and wisdom she shared, like Gandhi did.

I agree with you on both thoughts. When I come home from work I relish sitting here with no sounds but the keyboard and a bit of traffic going by.

I, too, had not read this one so it touched me, of course, as all of them do but even more so because of my love of nature and the need to listen to my inner self…it was as though she was speaking to me alone. You are quite welcome!
