Shade of purple hues cascading
patterned along sunset skies
mixing with orange, reds and
blues creating waterfall images
gently pooling along foothills
settling beneath a water’s edge
Shade of purple hues hidden beneath sunglasses,
underneath long sleeved shirts rising to the
surface as stains on carpet keep appearing
even though clean, reminders of secrets long kept
Artist is Leonid Afremov

Some how a very forlorn peice that harkens back to days of love and romance that stood the test of time. I don’t know why I took it this way, but alas, here it is.

Thank you Marja! I picked this picture as a free download from the computer and there was no name of an artist attached that I noticed so now I have a name I will enter it here.

this is a painting bursting with colours of spring, not a poem.

I liked this painting. Most of my writing is not really poems, Trisha, but just prose with words I think are beautiful but none of the pictures I choose are ever as beautiful as your images you paint. Thank you for visiting!

Renee, thank you for two beautiful stories in one. Even if the painting had not been displayed on your blog, the colors were so vivid throughout, my mind would still have been awhirl with shades of purple and red and…
Lovely. Thanks also for turning me on to a new artist, whose work I will search for at ask.com. Peace, Amy

Thank you Amy for noticing the duality that was intended here. It didn’t seem as though it happened but yes, I did mean for it to be. I am happy you saw through the words beneath to the meaning.
