I have just finished writing my second short story and it is posted under the tab Short Stories. Feel free to take a look. If you like short stories I hope you enjoy this one.
Thank You
I want to thank my daughter for the inspiration for the following post. I have already posted something in memory of mom in “I Will Remember” but her comment on the post gave me pause to post yet something more with her comment on ‘hands’. It brought tears to my eyes and then I began to write.
Her Hands
Her hands brought love in
food she prepared, the baked
goods, the dinners, the
table laden there
Her hands brought love in
hair that she washed, brushed,
cut and braided with care
unsurpassed
Her hands brought love in
teaching many a passion for
reading, sewing, gardening
lives seen with compassion
Her hands brought love in
strength a heart holding life
lived through all of us to the
end from the start

Breaking Out
The Path
Â
The path lies here but where
does it go beneath pine needle
carpets hiding soundless
footsteps silently from all
that lies below
The path that twists and turns
like random corkscrew chains
running away but still anchored
only springing back again
all goals eschewed
The path lies here but where
beneath a moonlit stream of
light bouncing off shadows
the trees spreading like giants
within the night
The path takes curves that
climb then swiftly drop into the
depths where it will always be
found where it continues its’
rest in ‘You’

Airwaves

The airwaves brought
you to me from
around the globe
the other side
of the earth
                                                          Up  “popped” the box
                                                          telling me you
                                                          had arrived in
                                                          grand fashion to
                                                          tickle me inside
Your voice emanated
via your words
sending your love
with a big ‘Hug’
making me laugh
                                                                       The airwaves brought
                                                                       you inside my room
                                                                        an electronic link
                                                                       from the other side
                                                                       of the earth

I Will Remember

Like fleeting images of photos that
dance before my eyes I remember
you, as yesterday’s warm sun against
my skin, I remember you and the
warmth rushes in and sadness too
all caressing me gently as you,
yes, I remember you
As the mirror portrays our likeness as
I peer into its’ glass the reflection is
you smiling bringing you close from the
past for a moment we look at each
other, just briefly I hear your laugh, I
ride the tide along with you in the
memories of my past
In the letters of words written, in the
birthday cards sealed with your kiss
that you sent every year I was blessed
that said what you could not and really
what it is that you meant to, of all the
hurt and good times, of the times I will
never forget
When I look in the face of my children,
the grandchildren too, their dance in this
life is your dance, the one that I always
knew and loved because it was yours and
you gave to all of us now for us to remind
us always and always to be mindful, yes
I will remember you
