Blue bird busily searching the freshly
overturned earth cocking his head
close to the ground listening
intent on the harvest,
relishing the conquest
immobile
Worm beneath the soft, dark, earth
hears the tiny footsteps above him,
tiny breaths in and out listening
waiting for the moment he
begins to slide, wriggle
hesitation
Blue bird has patience to listen, wait
while the worm cannot bear it
begins moving ever slowly
Blue bird makes his move a
perfect Spring day for
fishing!

This is so much fun! And birds have much more patience than cats do.

This is a really neat prose. You really have a way with describing how things really appear in life.

Lots of good tension developed in three short stanzas, both preditor and prey poised and imobile. Solid work, lady.
