Exploring streets Halloween night
Lost until a friend points home
Seeking answers to death, a child
A casket open grandfather sleeping
Moving a distance only wires reach
Raising children without family
A son to war for really no reason
A daughter a disease without answers
Counting deaths always approaching
Relatives gone no crying or ceremony
Freedom felt, unsteady hand typing
Showing countless numbers unknown
Fear propelling one forward seeking
A life not lived, only spent making
Now light shines a path barely trod
Courage, perhaps, an eternal door
